Locomotive Ex-Lner Class O2/4 Tango - 3D Model

Update on the previous model post & with thanks for all the views, likes & advice:

This locomotive is a ‘Ex-Lner Class 02/4 Tango 2-8-0 #63982 Br Black With Late Crest - Flush Tender’. A steam locomotive built by Doncaster Works & British Locomotive Co. between 1918–1943. A total of 67 engines were built & its main duties were for freight. It was in service until 1963.

Trying to gain experience with 3DS Max, I stumbled across this locomotive during a web search, feeling this would be interesting & challenging using unfamiliar software.

Research was conducted via Sheffield Railway Museum, National Railway Museum York for information & reference images to ensure the model was historically accurate.

It was my intention to model the locomotive with as few polygons as possible whilst also retaining detail. This would enable the model to be used with game engines. The polycount was approx. 123,000.

Moving forward, I intend to use Substance Painter for texturing, which is again, a software package that I am currently gaining experience in. This will provide more realistic textures for an engine of this era including deterioration, surface detail, rust, soot etc.
